San Antonio philanthropist, former Harte-Hanks CEO Larry D. Franklin is selling his longtime home

Executive and philanthropist Larry D. Franklin, the former CEO of media and marketing firm Harte-Hanks — once one of San Antonio's biggest publicly held companies — is selling his longtime residence for $1.6 million.

Franklin and his wife Charlotte listed the two-acre property in the northern suburb of Hill Country Village so they can spend more time on the family ranch, according to listing agent Pattie Walker with Kuper Sotheby's International Realty.

Franklin built the the four-bedroom, five-and-a-half-bath home in 1976 with the aid of a local interior decorator, according to its property listing, and it's undergone two major renovations since then. Avid gardener Charlotte Franklin oversaw the wooded, two-acre spread, which includes a lighted tennis court, a pool and an adjoining cabana.

The Franklins frequently entertained at the house, which helps explain its banquet-sized dining room, replete with ceiling-mounted spotlights to illuminate works of art hung on its walls. But that's far from the only high-end touch. The master suite includes access to a hot tub room, sizable library with a rolling ladder and what the listing describes as a "bonus crafts room."

This home is listed by Pattie Walker with Kuper Sotheby's International Realty.
