An arrest has been made in the early Monday morning shooting outside of Pegasus Nightclub that left three people injured.

On Tuesday, San Antonio police identified Jose Rincon Hernandez as the shooter that opened fire at on the Main Street Strip after getting into an argument with another man. Police at the scene said Hernandez was angry that another customer at a taco truck was taking too long to order, used a racial slur toward him and got into a fight broken up by security.

The police affidavit doesn't go into those details, but it confirms Hernandez was kicked out by Pegasus security and came back to the scene to shoot three people.

Other bargoers ran for cover as managers at Pegasus instructed people to hide inside the club.

Police Chief William McManus said officers were able to single Hernandez out as the shooter after recovering the weapon and conducting numerous interviews.

As Hernandez was escorted out of police headquarters on Tuesday, he proclaimed his innocence.

"I'm not taking any fault," Hernandez told camera crews. "My brother-in-law did it."

While some news sources focused on the location of the shooting, which happened in the heart of San Antonio's LGBTQ nightlife scene, McManus said the shooting was not a hate crime.

Hernandez has been charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. His bail has not been determined at this time.
