If bar-hopping isn't your thing, there are other ways to end 2018 out on the town. Here's a sampling of the special New Year's Eve dinners happening around San Antonio.

Boiler House Texas Grill & Wine Garden // If you're looking for a fancy affair, Boiler House is looking to serve one up. The Pearl restaurant will offer a five-course prix fixe meal, which you can opt to upgrade with a wine pairing. Entrees include an 18 oz. porterhouse, rosemary roasted rack of lamb and apple-stuffed pork loin roulade. $93-$128, 312 Pearl Pkwy Bldg. 3,

El Luchador // The lucha libre-inspired bar will no doubt be a popular spot for getting tipsy, but it's also offering bites to go with the booze. Durden Food Group will be on site roasting a pig — since 2019 is Year of the Pig, according to the Chinese zodiac. This laid-back dinner will include tunes by DJ Angel Moreno, party favors and a champagne toast at midnight. $25, 622 Roosevelt, (210) 272-0016,

Hop & Vine // If you want to get away from the busy downtown area, Hop & Vine is serving dinner in Alamo Ranch. You'll get a glass of champagne when you walk in, followed by a multi-course tasting menu with an entree of your choice. After dinner, you can even score some celebratory goodies to take with you to your next stop. $65, 5619 W. Loop 1604 N., Suite 109, (210) 878-4071,

Luna Rosa Puerto Rican Grill y Tapas // The South Side's spot for Puerto Rican fare will offer dinner and a party in honor of New Year's Eve. Get your fill of the cuisine with tapas and a three-course dinner buffet. There will, of course, be a DJ and champagne toast at midnight. 2603 SE Military Dr # 106, (210) 314-3111,

On the Bend Oyster Bar and Lounge // Turns out downtown isn't just for nightlife but loaded buffets. A first for On the Bend, the buffet will offer oysters (duh), steamed mussels, snow crab legs, jumbo cocktail shrimp, coastal Mexican seafood salad and more. There will also be a poke bar to build your perfect bowl. Tickets also include party favors and cover for the nearby Mad Dogs British Pub. $63, 123 Losoya Street,

Paesanos Riverwalk // With three different dinner times, Paesanos will offer a romantic dinner on the River Walk. Choose from a Caesar salad or Italian wedding soup before picking from a number of entree options. A New York-style cheesecake parfait will be served for dessert. Reservations encouraged, $25 for children, $53-$67 for adults, 111 W Crockett St #101, (210) 227-2782,

Palenque Grill La Cantera // A three-course dinner at Palenque Grill also comes with the opportunity to walk it off while hopping between area bars as it gets closer to midnight. Dinner includes party favors, a champagne toast and live music. Reservation required, 15900 La Cantera Pkwy #25100, 8pm, (210) 592-9534,

Perry's Steakhouse & Grille // Diners at Perry's will get a chance to ring in the new year with a three-course meal. Choose between a soup or salad before moving onto a signature entreé and dessert. Entreé options include the New York strip, grilled salmon, surf & turf pasta, spaghetti squash primavera and more. Reservations required, $60-$80, 15900 La Cantera Pkwy, Ste 22200, (210) 558-6161,

Restaurant Gwendolyn // The well-reviewed Restaurant Gwendolyn is serving up a way to end 208 on a classy note. Its five-course prefix meal comes with a glass of champagne and caviar service. Wine pairings are optional. Reservations required, 152 E Pecan St, Ste 100, (210) 222-1849,
