San Antonio Spurs vs. Oklahoma City Thunder Staff Pick

When: Thu., March 29, 7 p.m. 2018
Price: $37-$790
Earlier this month, Carmelo Anthony notched 25,280 NBA points to surpass longtime Pacers sharpshooter Reggie Miller and claim the 19th spot on the league’s all-time scoring list. LeBron James and Dirk Nowitzki are the only active players who rank higher than Carmelo on the list and, unlike Anthony, have championship hardware to validate their stats. After stops in Denver and New York, Carmelo is now the third option in Oklahoma City where Coach Billy Donovan has successfully campaigned to curb Anthony’s notorious ball-stopping tendencies. Awaiting the Thunder in San Antonio is a scrappy Spurs team that continues to adapt the rugged tendencies of its own resident Latino icon, Manu Ginobili, in a crowded Western Conference playoff scrum. Although first-round playoff exits outnumber NBA titles for the Spurs 3-1 in the past 10 years, hope springs eternal in San Anto. A Thursday night showdown with the Thunder could be pivotal in determining the Spurs’ post-season fortunes.
