Honoring one of the most prolific artists and producers in hip-hop history, James “J Dilla” Yancey, comes Dilla Day. Since 2016 rappers, beat-makers, and singers from all around San Antonio have come together to honor the late producer’s life and legacy with respective sets. This year’s lineup includes MC2, Spy MC & Da Band, Apaso, Intre, AMEA, Mad One, Tone Royal, Apas, Alvin Jae aka Tuxedo Blakk, Raw the Kat & Cashmo, JL, Royal King Minus with producer intermissions from Jknodic, Mikey Strange, Clematis, Bomb Shelter Crew and shots Dupre. For a quick look at what San Antonio has to offer on the hip-hop side of things, this is sort of the perfect show for that. The show is free, but they are accepting donations to go towards the James Yancey Foundation, a non-profit charitable institution that helps fund the development of music in the inner city and provide scholarships to students enrolled at schools.

Donation encouraged, Fri Feb. 23, 5pm, Burleson Yard Beer Garden, 430 Austin St. (210) 354-3001, facebook.com/burlesonyard.
