Fever pitch

Fallon proves he's the Sidd Finch of acting

Straying from their trademark raunchy humor, the Farrelly brothers (There's Something About Mary) get in touch with their soft romantic side in Fever Pitch, a story about love, traditions, priorities, and, of course, baseball. When Lindsey Meeks (Barrymore) falls head over cleats for hardcore Boston Red Sox fan Ben Wrightman (Fallon), she doesn't realize that she will have to take a backseat to his obsession for the game. Fallon is no Adam Sandler, but he and Barrymore create some sparks that outlast the seventh inning stretch. It's not a homerun, but Fever Pitch is definitely a solid base hit that will have you singing for someone to take you out to the ballgame. Kiko Martinez
