Screens That’s a wrap and special screenings

Based on the novel by C.S. Lewis, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe follows the Pevensie children—Lucy (Georgie Henley), Edmund (Skandar Keynes), Peter (William Moseley), and Susan (Anna Popplewell)—as they enter a magical world through a wardrobe in World War II stricken London. In Narnia, among an assortment of creatures, including dwarfs, fauns, centaurs, giants, and the Minotaur, the children must battle Jadis (Tilda Swinton), the evil White Witch who holds the land in eternal winter. This year’s Narnia is directed and co-written by Adam Adamson (Shrek 2).

In Loggerheads, three stories intertwine. Grace (Bonnie Hunt), a mother who goes on a journey to find the son she gave up for adoption, stars in the first. The second is about the encounter between Mike (Kip Pardue), a man obsessed with saving loggerhead sea turtles, and George (Michael Kelly), a hotel owner. The third tells the story of a minister’s wife (Tess Harper), who confronts her husband (Chris Sarandon) about their estranged son.

Finally, Paradise Now gets into the minds of two Palestinian suicide bombers who must decide whether or not to follow through with the mission that will immortalize them. `See “Paradise Lost,” November 17-23, 2005.`

Local premiere dates for limited-release films are tentative and can change at the last minute. Please check your local theater listings to confirm showtimes.
