Emerging out of post-hardcore’s peak in the early aughts, Emery grabbed the scene’s attention with their Tooth And Nail Records debut The Weak’s End.

If you had a carabiner key chain, a pair of Onitsuka Tiger’s and an iPod nano shuffling tracks from bands like Norma Jean, Underoath and MewithoutYou, chances are this Seattle-based fivesome was on regular rotation while you updated the HTML on your Myspace background.

Combining twinkly guitar notations with heavy drum progressions and intervals of screaming, Emery helped pave the way for a new generation of emo kids that sought serenity in shimmery post hardcore.
