S'Nuff film

Attention creative types: The City’s Office of Cultural Affairs and the Westside Development Corporation have sort of banded together to think about developing a “cultural incubator” on the West Side, a shared office space for artists, filmmakers, designers, etc. Since this thing barely exists outside of the mind of some dude at OCA at this point, there are very few details, but you can direct your browser to epay.sanantonio.gov/SurveySystem/Survey.aspx?SurveyId=41, and fill out an exploratory survey, chockfull of more non-committal bush-beating than a nervous 16-year-old asking for a date to the prom: “If you would maybe consider the possibility of thinking about it, please check this box. Really? Oh. What if I can borrow my dad’s station wagon?”

And in the realm of the non-hypothetical, a screenplay by SA native filmmaker Ya’Ke Smith, currently a prof in UT’s Radio-TV-Film department, gets a reading 7 p.m. Sunday, February 8, at Cap City Comedy Club (capcitycomedy.com) in Austin. Admission is free, if you don’t count gas money.

And here in Alamo City, Trinity University will host a screening of The Trap, a modern Serbian film noir,
7 p.m. TONIGHT (Wednesday) in Northrup Hall, Room 040. More info at lib.trinity.edu/libinfo/events/cinema_09.shtml.
