S'nuff Film

I totally gave you guys the heads up a few weeks ago, so don’t come crying to your old Uncle Snuffy if you let the SA Film Festival’s May 1 deadline pass without postmarking a single narrative short. If it were up to me, the festival would tell all you procrastinators where exactly to submit those DVDs come lately, but the festival’s giving you a second chance. You can submit your film from now until May 15, but the submission fee’s gone up to $55. You’ll never learn your lesson this way. Go to safilm.com for more info.

If you’re in the mood for entertainment having nothing whatsoever to do with our fine city, check out a special Thursday, May 7, screening of Consumerville: The Execution of Eartha Terra, a whiny independent documentary bitching about “capitalist excess” this and “urban sprawl car culture” that. There’s no telling why they chose to show it here, but it might be worth driving your Hemi-equipped vehicle the 20 miles across town to Alamo Westlakes (drafthouse.com/westlakes) to see how the other half lives. Showtime’s at 7:30 p.m., and tickets are $5 if you’re still caught up in that whole “monetary system” game.
