S'NUFF film

I’m assuming there’s a lot more of you reading this column now that the video of me base jumping from the Tower of the Americas `note: To protect the safety of impressionable children most of this description has been removed` … the guitar solo from “Maggot Brain” and a strategically placed windsock. Wait, you haven’t seen it? That sucks for me, but what a wonderful segue to the topic of Tuesday’s SA Film Forum: “Building an Audience on the Web.” Just off the top of my head, two tips I can think of for getting more people to watch your movie online are: 1. make it a bootleg copy of the new Transformers movie, and 2. have sex with Paris Hilton in it.

The meeting starts at 7 p.m. at the Central Library (600 Soledad), but you can show up 30 minutes early if you want to network. (I swear I won’t try to talk to you.)

Speaking of your films, SA’s chapter of the National Association of Latino Independent Producers needs them. If you’ve got an experimental short ready for viewing during Contemporary Art Month or a projector the org can borrow, contact NALIP prez Veronica Hernandez at (210) 683-8780.
