Politically conscious and socially active rapper, DJ, and producer Mexican Stepgrandfather headlines Sonido Colectivo, a diverse night of music ranging from traditional Mexican rancheras to cognizant hip-hop. Mexican Stepgrandfather writes on issues such as Texas/Mexico border policy, corrupt institutions, and misrepresentations of minorities in the media — in his music, he samples records, raps, plays guitar, bass, keyboard, and drums to create intersections of cultural expression interjected with political commentary. $5, 10pm, Saluté, 2801 N.
