Cinemark Theatres Announces No Large Bag Policy

Not to call out everyone that sneaks food into the movie theater, but if you're notorious for doing so when catching flicks at Cinemark Theatres, we've got some bad news for you.

Starting Thursday, February 22, the movie chain will not allow bags larger than 12" x 12" x 6". On the Cinemark website, the company said the new policy is in an effort to keep employees and guests safe. Some theaters opted for similar polices after the 2012 shooting at a midnight showing of The Dark Knight Rises at an Aurora, Colorado movie theater.

Cinemark did say that the exception to the policy would be for medical equipment and diaper bags. For any size bag, the company reserves the right to inspect bags before going inside the theater.

If you're absolutely opposed to buying concessions here, better eat your snacks at home. Or be like these people and go all out to have your snack and eat it too.
