Cinematexas: High Above this Wall

Cinematexas takes its show on the road, showcasing films from all over the world in the travelling exhibit High Above This Wall.

Here is a synopsis of the films scheduled to be shown: A Room With a View in the Financial District, was filmed in June 2001 when the filmmaker was an artist-in-residence at the World Trade Center in New York City. This unique work discovers frozen moments by showing abandoned architecture with traces of a working environment. Fields revists a series of World War I battlefields that have overgrown past recognition, in an acknowledgement of today's man-made terror. Viva la Guerra is an animation film featuring a plastic Harrison Ford in a convincing and hilarious Vietnam War-era film. Seven Days explores Nixon's first quarter in office from the eyes of his Irish Setter King Timahoe, during the bombing of Cambodia, the death of Eisenhower, and the war in Vietnam. Right Road Lost is the true story of Phil Rios, a wannabe artist whose life took him to Vietnam, the Postal Service, the National Guard, and finally the Persian Gulf, where his life changed forever. Forbidden to Wander is an hour-long film that chronicles the experiences of a 25-year-old Arab-American, Christian woman traveling on her own in the occupied territories of the West Bank and Gaza Strip during the summer of 2002. •
