If you're anything like us, you're still not over Monday's news of Manu Ginobili's inevitable retirement.
But, the AT&T Center has just announced a new addition to the arena that might could help alleviate the pain of losing one of the team's pillars.
The East Concourse on the Balcony Level will be home to two of chef Johnny Hernandez's concepts this season. The new area, which opens this November, will feature bites from both Burgerteca and La Gloria, as well as a specialty bar, and will be open to all fans (so you don't have to spring for those terrace level tickets).
“In recent years I have seen venues across the country incorporate their local chef community in the interest of elevating the guest experience for loyal sports fans,” Hernandez said in a press release. “There is nothing more exciting for us than to be partnering with a beloved local organization like Spurs Sports & Entertainment to enrich the culinary experience at the AT&T Center for the San Antonio community.”
The noted chef first opened La Gloria at The Pearl in 2012, and followed it with another in Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, as well as an outpost in the San Antonio International Airport and The Dominion. He also added The Fruteria, Burgeteca and Villa Rica within the last year, and has plans to open another restaurant at La Villita in the near future.
