“A beautifully concocted Molotov cocktail that explodes like a supernova,” Scary Cherry and the Bang Bangs is fronted by former Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader Lezlie Deane, a provocateur whose acting credits include Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare, Almost Pregnant, and Dynasty. As a member of the lesbian techno-pop group Fem2Fem, Deane toured with Nine Inch Nails and Marilyn Manson and was named Captain of the Dallas roller derby team The Slaughterers in 2007. The “glitter punk rock child of Alice Cooper and Joan Jett,” Deane’s latest endeavor (rounded out by guitarists Minx the Jinx and Tony Coke and a pounding rhythm section fueled by Rockula and Meat Pie) doubles as the Betty Boop-inspired quintet The Dead 20’s. The slam-pop outfit plays 502 with support from Mrs. Howl. $5, 8pm, 502 Bar, Embassy Oaks, (210)257-8125, 502bar.com.
