Stay Current with the Pick of the day: They Might Be Giants

They Might Be Giants post image

Brooklyn-born They Might Be Giants get worlds across in short spurts — evidenced by this year’s Nanobots, an album that packs “25 unreasonable songs in 45 phenomenal minutes.” Originally comprised of John Flansburgh (on guitar), John Linnell (on accordion and sax), and a drum machine, the kid-friendly indie act is now “propped up by the power” of Dan Miller, Danny Weinkauf, and Marty Beller. Grammy winners for the song “Boss of Me” (the theme from Malcolm in the Middle) and Here Come the 123s (2009’s Best Musical Album For Children), the band defined geek chic in the late ’80s via witty hits like “Don’t Let’s Start” and “Ana Ng.” Presently claiming only three influences (Rip Torn, Gary Busey, and Sean Young), TMBG play Floore’s with support from “cave music” trio Moon Hooch. $20-$25, 9pm, John T. Floore's Country Store, 14492 Old Bandera, (210) 695-8827, Check out our full online calendar of upcoming events here:
