Sushi Zushi's owner is selling this $1.2 million totally '80s mansion in North San Antonio

If the sleek design of the 1950s can have a comeback, maybe it's time for us to also start appreciating the 1980s — you know, in all its oversized, natural light-obsessed, faux-finish glory.

And this 9,000-square foot, butter-yellow beauty for sale near Shavano Park is about as '80s maximalist as you can get.

Alfonso Tomita, the founder and president of the Sushi Zushi chain — is there any more quintessentially '80s dish than sushi? — is selling the six-bedroom, eight-and-a-half-bath property, according to its listing agent. Apparently, the restaurateur and his wife are nearly empty nesters and looking to downsize.

The two-story living area is clearly the eye catcher here. Its soaring ceiling, breathtaking spiral staircase and floor-to-ceiling windows all scream 1981, the year this handsome home was built.

However, there's also something to be said for the massive, granite-framed fireplace and the lengthy wet bar, complete with a foot rail. And then there's the tree-shaded backyard with its multi-level brick patio and a lounge-worthy swimming pool.

Mousse up your hair, slip in those shoulder pads and take a tour.

This home is listed by Judith Crawford with Kuper Sotheby's International Realty.
