Taco Truck Throwdown

Uploaded by Kimberly
What can we say about the Taco Truck Throwdown? If the name of the event doesn’t tell you all you need to know to get your ass there, then you need to seriously examine your priorities as a San Antonian. Maybe that’s a bit harsh, but probably not. For this year’s throwdown, the eighth annual, taco aficionados can look forward to $1 al pastor tacos from noon to 4pm (a fantastic reason to arrive early and hungry), more than 25 competitors to sample from, and great live music provided by Los #3 Dinners (puro San Anto rock and roll) and Finding Friday (party rock). Another reason not to miss this event is the venue itself. For anyone who hasn’t had the pleasure of kicking back a few cold ones at Texas’ oldest VFW, now’s your chance to mend the error of your ways. The historic building, with plenty of outdoor chill space, is located on the River Walk near the San Antonio Museum of Art and provides the ultimate setting in which to enter the taco coma of your wildest dreams.
