A Texas man accused of stabbing his wife to death, decapitating her and later keeping her head in a freezer in 2016 pleaded guilty to murder last Friday.

Davie Dauzat was sentenced to 52 years in prison, according to McLennan County District Attorney Abel Reyna.

His sentencing came from a plea deal offered by his deceased wife Natasha Dauzat's family. She was found dead at the couple's home in August 2016 after police responded to reports of domestic violence. Police later found her head in a freezer after convincing the 24-year-old man to come out of the house.

The couple's two young children were home at the time, but were not physically harmed.
