A Texas pre-teen is facing a murder charge after fatally shooting a younger sibling on Saturday, according to reports.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office arrested a 12-year-old child for allegedly shooting and killing a 10-year-old brother. Deputies responded to a Conroe home to find the 10-year-old with a single gunshot wound to the chest.

Paramedics at the scene attempted to save the boy's life before transporting him to a hospital for further treatment. However, the child died from his injuries.

Authorities say they're unsure of the motive for the shooting, though they're continuing to investigate the incident. The 12-year-old child, whose gender has not been confirmed by authorities, is currently being held at a juvenile detention facility in Montgomery County.
