Texas-Sized Indoor Waterpark Opening in Grand Prairie This Weekend

  • Epic Waters Indoor Park / Facebook
While there's only a few months out of the year that it's not hot enough to enjoy swimming and other water activities, Epic Waters is making it possible to take in some waterpark fun year-round.

The 80,000 square-foot waterpark, located in Grand Prairie, is set to open Friday, according to its website. Inside the enclosed glass structure (with a roof that opens for sunny days), you'll find 11 waterslides, three of which are the "first of their kind" within the waterpark industry.

For a more relaxed experience, visitors can float around the Rio Grande (which sometimes has a surge) or shoot some hoops at the Swimming Hole.

Outside, there's a 10,000 square-foot wave pool that will be open from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Here you'll have the choice to kick it easy closer to shore or venture out to the deep end against rolling waves.

There's fun for little ones in the dedicated Rascal's Roundup. With appropriately-sized slides, geysers and sprinklers, this spot also features a 300-gallon tipping bucket that pours over all the little ones.

Plus, there's an arcade with more than 50 classic games and fresh food made on premises.
