Texas Veterans Call for Action on Climate Change

Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL) San Antonio chapter is hosting a series of free events for anyone interested in engaging the political process to respond to global warming. While people often associate climate change with increasing temperatures and melting glaciers, the weekend starts with a presentation by 40-year USAF veteran Abraham Madha, who takes a more nuanced look at global warming's far-reaching implications to our national security. Abraham will then be joined by other veterans for a panel discussion. Immediately following will be a screening of the award-winning film “Fierce Green Fire,” which stars Robert Redford and Meryl Streep and reviews the history of conservation movements. There will be a brief Q&A discussion afterward about how CCL's non-partisan, respectful approach to citizen advocacy is changing the discussion in Washington around managing the risks of climate change.

“Absolutely perfect weekend getaway! We were worried that it might be too hot inside the tent, as both my husband and I love our room cold, but it was perfect around 70 degrees…especially in the summer. Bed was very comfortable and you could just sink in and sleep. I slept so deeply. It is a beautiful, serene place to stay and I could not recommend it more!” - Yelper Larissa I
