On February 26 Dr. Kimberlyn Montford will offer an interactive workshop on the African-American musical experience. Genres include spirituals, hymns, jazz, and gospel music. No musical experience necessary— just bring an openness to learn more about one of the fundamental aspects of the African-American community, and a desire to be a part of a powerful recreation! Refreshments will be provided afterward. Masks are required.
Dr. Montford and guest musicians including Aaron Prado will also contribute to the worship music at Northwood Presbyterian Church on Sunday.
Dr. Montford is Associate Professor of Music History and co-director of African American Studies at Trinity
