If you prefer aluminum to glass for your beer stowing needs, you'll want to head to
The Growler Exchange. The growler filling station and bar has started carrying 32-ounce crowler (can + growler) as of last week.
It wasn't too long ago that crowlers were prohibited by wacky alcohol-policing agency TABC. As we reported earlier this year, "several Texas bar owners who had to stop canning beer when state alcohol regulators in 2015 settled on this brain-twisting logic: while filling bottle growlers with beer to go was perfectly legal, putting the same brew in a giant sealed can was not." But that ended this April and crowler filling has resumed.
Cost of fills will run between $7 and $12, with the crowler itself priced at $1.
