The Most Exciting Restaurants and Bars Opening in San Antonio This Fall

Now that 2017 is nearly over (don't blink), we're excited about the number of restaurants and bars that are newly open or set to do so within the next few months. While all of the details may not be in place for those not yet open, the rumors alone on these spots have us all but drooling. But at least we have some new spots to try out in the meantime.

Owner Frances Lee said the shop will offer classic black milk tea and Jasmine green milk tea beverages as well as unique creations like honey galaxy and lemon unicorn with bright colors and tasty flavors. Tea lovers will be able to experience the best of both worlds with split cups from Taiwan that let you enjoy two flavors at once. Lee said San Antonians can expect to see the opening as soon as the first week in November.

Cake Boss's growing chain of restaurants is coming to San Antonio. According to The Shops at La Cantera, which shared a photo of a barricaded window unit baring Buddy Valastro, Buddy V's Ristorante is opening sometime this fall. Though Valastro's team has yet to share any details on the location, Buddy V's Ristorante has locations in Las Vegas and Sands Casino Resort in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Pictured here is the classic spaghetti and meatballs, which we're sure tastes anything but ordinary coming from the kitchen of this Italian-American prince.

Burgerteca
423 Blue Star, facebook.com
We haven't been able to get a good look at the future spot of the burger-meets-Mexican-fare joint, but being at Blue Star and having this aesthetic means we're all for it. Burgerteca and sister concept Villa Rica were announced late last year, and will take up 6,400 square feet of the ground floor retail space of the apartment complex. This will be the fourth and fifth restaurant concept for Hernandez, who first opened La Gloria in 2010 and has gone on to replicate the eatery at the Dominion area, Caesars Palace in Las Vegas and in several airports.

Frank and Lori Hakspiel, the minds behind Fralo's Art of Pizza, are hoping to turn Bar 301 into a music venue complete with a piano bar, wine and food. The bar features a large patio, VIP room and an island bar, which will make the space versatile enough for meetings and parties alike.

Big Hops
7915 W. 1604 N., Suite 112, bighops.com
Look for this Big Hops to have a plethora of beer taps, as well as a few for wine and cider. The location will share the now standard Big Hops décor, though the new franchise owners will certainly put their own local community feel to the place.

Earl Abel's
1639 Broadway, earlabelssa.com
Owner Roger Arias told mySA.com that he expected the restaurant to reopen in its new home as soon as Sunday, October 15, though that day came and went without an opening. No word yet on the new reopening date will be, though the relocation closer to the original EA has us feeling nostalgic - and hungry - AF.

Arguably best known for its fried chicken, the old school diner is also frequented for its fresh pies, especially the coconut merengue pie.

LA Crawfish
22502 US 281 N. Suite 110
According to T. Pham, regional operator for SA market, the store will likely open by the end of the year. Though cozier than the first location in San Antonio off of Culebra Road, the new location will feature the same menu the brand is known for on a smaller scale. Pham, who helped open the first store in Houston in 2011, says LA Crawfish will be expanding aggressively across the San Antonio market.

1900 Broadway
The Boulevardier Group-owned bar will take up 3,000 square feet with 1,500 of those coming from an outdoor patio deck that will wrap around the building. The prices will remain similar to the former location, as will the cocktail list, and the neighborhood vibe with plenty of TVs to watch Spurs games and an outdoor projector. Stay Golden will also feature a game room with arcade games, air hockey, and darts. Food will more than likely be handled by sister bar Tucker's Kozy Korner.
