The Pod Restaurant is Inviting Residents to Explore Renovations

If you haven't heard of The Pod Restaurant yet, you'll get a second chance during their "grand re-opening" this weekend.

Owners, Jorge Mosqueda and Gerardo Briseno have created a restaurant made entirely out of recycled shipping containers. The Pod, which opened back in January, will celebrate their grand re-opening Saturday, September 30. This event will be celebrating renovations made such as a sports bar, which was added to the second floor, two outdoor patios (made entirely from repurposed wood) and a 22,000-square-foot playing field. The event is from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. but the restaurant is open until 10 p.m.

During Saturday's event, Child Advocates San Antonio or CASA will be present accepting donations in order to help children that have been abused and or neglected. Example donations include toys, clothing, toiletries, backpacks and duffle bags.

The Pod highly encourages donations and in return will give guests, who donate, a free desert.
