“The Strangler” — Sik Sinik

Horrorcore generally fails not to suck (i.e., probable antichrists the Insane Clown Posse) because of its heavy-metal vamping and Monster Mash flow. “The Strangler,” by contrast, achieves a legitimate creepiness with relatively low-key guitar loops, late-late-show samples, and — most importantly — Sik Sinik’s drawling, deadpan delivery while conflating inner and outer monstrosities and describing an ultra-violence spree, ultimately ending with a comment card critiquing the taste of the corpse he’s cannibalized, a la Albert Fish. But, damn, it’s got a good beat.
