The Week in Music 11/1-11/7

Here’s what’s in store musically in SA this week, IN ADDITION TO all the stuff we highlighted in our print edition. Always check our calendar for comprehensive listings.

Dudes! Are we still in San Antonio? There's at least one show worth going to every single damned night this week!

Mon Nov 1: Vampires Everywhere and Grandchildren at White Rabbit $10. Adorable, apple-cheeked world pop from Grandchildren. If only they would share their candy with those angry little dickens Vampires Everywhere.

Tue Nov 2: Monotonix, Circle Pit, Xry at The Korova $9. You will be sprayed with beer by these insane Israeli rockers. And there will probably be a circle pit for Circle Pit.

Wed Nov 3: Gold Motel at the 1011 $8. Lead singer of the Hush Sound has a California pop meets Motown vibe. Read more from her at on Weds.

Thu Nov 4: Merle Haggard at Gruene Hall $69.50. Yes, it's damn near $70 bucks. But it's also Merle Haggard. What else you gonna do with that cash, hippie? Buy some marijuana cigarettes?

Fri Nov 5: Tumbledown at Limelight Music+Drinks $6. It's one of the dudes from MxPx playing punk Americana

Justin Bieber at AT&T Center $36-$56. OMG. I've got Bieber-fever. I haven't anticipate hyperventilating this much since the last Twilight movie.

Ace of Spades 30th Anniversary with Martyrhead and Boxcar Satan (Call 265-3573 for ticket info) at Nightrocker Live. Need I say more?

Sat Nov 6:

Somebody's Darling at Casbeers $10. Dallas-based indie Americana with sweet tea vocals.

Black Joe Lewis and Cedric Burnside at Sam's Burger Joint $15. Austin-based blues screamer and R.L. Burnside's son team up.

Apples in Stereo and Buttercup at the Korova $13.50. Pop that rots your teeth and makes you smile.

Sun 11/7 Brent Amaker and the Rodeo at the Mix FREE. Dark outloaw country from rough and tumble Seattle.
