This historic fixer-upper for sale is one of the few brick homes in San Antonio's King William area

San Antonio's King William Historical District is full of amazing old homes with beautiful, often meticulously detailed woodwork. But not so many clad in brick.

Which is one of the things that makes this 1915 craftsman home in the south-of-downtown neighborhood kind of unusual. In fact, according to its listing agent, the $875,000 property is one of just a handful of brick homes in the area.

An architect named Beverly W. Spillman created the four-bedroom, two-bath home, which is on the market after being split into an upstairs-downstairs rental property.

Clearly, it will need some work to get rid of the unfortunate '70s wood paneling and a kitchen straight from the Brady Bunch era. That said, there's lots of potential, as evidenced by the original wood floors, large central fireplace and ornate above-door woodwork.

It's also got a swimming pool and is a couple blocks away from a River Walk entrance, which could sweeten the pot for someone with the carpentry skills and bank account to restore this beauty.

This home is listed by Elizabeth M. Barrera with King William Realty.
