This home now on the market looks like a Pacific Island resort dropped into North San Antonio

Real estate agent Aden J. Stiles describes the 1969 home he recently put on the market as "Pacific Islander meets tree house meets Texas Hill Country," and we'd be hard pressed to come up with a better summation of its quirky design.

Located on Interstate 10 just outside Loop 410, the property underwent an extensive reno after Stiles bought it a year ago. He cut back the surrounding trees to allow more light to stream through its floor-to-ceiling windows and poured new concrete for an extended patio with a fire pit.

But the showstoppers here are the deck extending around much of the home and the three pointed roofs that give it a look that's more South Pacific than South Texas. A raised wooden walkway leading to the front door completes the resort feel.

Stiles says he's never been able to track information on the four-bedroom, two-bath home's original architect — or what faraway locale was on his or her mind when designing the hideaway.
