This sprawling, $1.75M home near Alamo Heights is tucked away and hidden from view

Not all lavish homes look like palaces from the outside. Case in point: this sprawling 5,600-foot property for sale in San Antonio's Northwood neighborhood near Alamo Heights.

First, it's set back a from the street and down a slope, so it's easy to miss. But even when looking at the exterior from the front, there's little to hint at just how expansive and elegant the interior is.

The property was built in 1956, but a gut job by one of its owners resulted in breathtaking and modern features, including a living area with curving two-story windows that offer a panoramic view of the half-acre lot outside. The upstairs game room has a pool table and a built-in bar, not to mention a view out of that same set of two-story windows.

The $1.75 million property also includes some surprising and off-beat touches such as a purple bathroom with a floral mural and a long, narrow home office with built-in wooden shelves and ceiling beams. And for that kind of price tag, yes, it naturally comes with a pool.

This home is listed by Kevin Crawford with San Antonio Portfolio Real Estate.
