Toadies

Release Date: 2008-12-24

The Toadies are back in business, this time on the road supporting the new CD, No Deliverance. The Fort Worth rockers rose to fame in the grunge-ridden ’90s when their debut album, Rubberneck, went platinum on the strength of the smash singles “Possum Kingdom” and “Tyler.” It should have been the beginning of an exemplary rock career, but things didn’t work out that way — the group released its followup album, Hell Below/Stars Above, a long seven years later and disbanded shortly after. But the legendary Texans sure can stage a comeback. Frontman Vaden Todd Lewis is a sucker for one-off reunions, and outrageous fan response has prompted a number of sold out shows — including two packed White Rabbit performances last December. Two shows: $26/28.50, 7pm Monday and Tuesday, Scout Bar, 19314 Hwy. 281 N., (210) 494-7700.
