Two San Antonio art collectors are selling their museum-like home in Terrell Hills

San Antonio art collectors Erika Ivanyi and Matthias Schubnell have listed their museum-reminiscent Terrell Hills home for just over $1.8 million, a property designed by well-regarded residential architect Ken Bentley.

The main living areas of the 4,500-square-foot structure are centered around a large courtyard with a custom in-ground spa and gas fireplace, which was once featured in the magazine Pool and Spa News. Light streams into the house from wide stretches of glass, and the living room features dramatic 15-foot barrel ceilings.

Given the sellers' interest in art, it should be no surprise that colorful paintings hang throughout the home's interior, and sculpture adorns the courtyard. Indeed, Ivanyi in a 2017 Express-News article said she and her husband were struck by the home's museum-like qualities when they first viewed it.

“When we walked in, we said, ‘It’s got gallery walls. Look at the big wide open space,’” she said.
