San Antonio art collectors Erika Ivanyi and Matthias Schubnell have listed their museum-reminiscent Terrell Hills home for just over $1.8 million, a property designed by well-regarded residential architect Ken Bentley.
The main living areas of the 4,500-square-foot structure are centered around a large courtyard with a custom in-ground spa and gas fireplace, which was once featured in the magazine Pool and Spa News
. Light streams into the house from wide stretches of glass, and the living room features dramatic 15-foot barrel ceilings.
Given the sellers' interest in art, it should be no surprise that colorful paintings hang throughout the home's interior, and sculpture adorns the courtyard. Indeed, Ivanyi in a 2017 Express-News
article said she and her husband were struck by the home's museum-like qualities when they first viewed it.
“When we walked in, we said, ‘It’s got gallery walls. Look at the big wide open space,’” she said.
