This Friday, the fine folks at H-E-B are kicking off the Christmas season with a tree lighting ceremony at Travis Park. Like all things H-E-B, this free event will be undeniably satisfactory. Hosted by former San Antonio Spurs player Matt Bonner, currently of Spurs TV, this celebration includes the wintery usuals like letters to Santa and cookie decoration stations. Entertainment is provided by holiday storytellers and live musical acts starting at 3 p.m. All this to get you pumped for Santa Claus, who will arrive at 6:20 p.m. to light the Christmas tree with over 10,000 LED lights. This 55-foot White Fir Christmas tree is annually gifted to the City of San Antonio by H-E-B.

Friday, Nov. 24, 3 p.m., 301 E. Travis St.
