It was a transformative year for San Antonio dining. We saw the addition of several big name restaurants from some of our most note-worthy chefs, along with closures from childhood classics.

For this season’s Flavor: San Antonio’s Ultimate Food Lover’s Guide, we take a look at 15 restaurants and shops we love, such as the addition of Burgerteca, Range and the return of Francis Bogside. Writer Ron Bechtol sits down with ne dining chefs who endure in an Instagram Era, while Lance Higdon dives into the world of pub theology.

We peruse international markets with lasting appeal, explore Asian sweets that have popped up en masse this year, and highlight where to eat clean in 2018.
From noodles to poké to pub fare to burgers inspired by Mexico, there’s plenty to explore in ol’ San Antone and we hope you use Flavor as your travel guide across the city. Buckle up.
