Where to Find Friendsgiving Parties in San Antonio

Whether you're looking to avoid extra family time or just like to celebrate with friends, there's quite a bit of ways to celebrate Friendsgiving (aka Drinksgiving/Thanksgiving Eve/pre-Thanksgiving). If you want to hit up official parties and events falling on the biggest drinking night of the year, these spots are what you're looking for.

Part Thanksgiving Eve party and part reunion for Midnight Rodeo folks, this bash will include $2, $3 and $4 drink specials before 11 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m., so you have plenty of time to get drink it up.

There will be a lot of partying going on at Industry this week. Xavier the Freakin Rican will be at the club on Wednesday, which will feature ‘80s, ‘90s and ‘00s tunes plus some drink specials. Oh, and there won’t be a cover.

Friends can gather together at La Tuna for a few beers and a night of fun. From the kitchen you’ll be able to score Kentucky hot brown turkey sandwiches and chicken fried pork sliders, which will be on special for the night. There will even be beer and wine specials until closing! Oh, and a piñata at 8:30 p.m. Now that’s one hell of party.

Get in your feelings with Brass Monkey’s emo night. The Thanksgiving Eve party kicks off at 9 p.m. and will feature all the emo jams from the mid to late ‘90s and ‘00s emo jams. And you already know that a party includes drink specials and ratchetry.

Ten bucks will get you into this gentleman’s club for a Thanksgiving Eve parties. Misty the Model will host the evening, which will include live performances, a $100 twerk contest and a free turkey giveaway.

The Amp Room will have a Thanksgiving Edition of its Finding Emo on the Strip on Wednesday night. Expect the best emo, pop punk, screamo and throwback tunes at this cover-free night. Get there early for free fried turkey while it lasts, though you can console yourself with $3 wells all night if you don’t snag some grub.

Cootey’s Tavern

Though not an official Friendsgiving celebration, Cootey’s Tavern will be having its 35th anniversary party this Wednesday. The family-owned bar will have a free food buffet from 5 to 7 p.m. and live music from 7 to 11 p.m. They’ll also be giving out free anniversary koozies to the first 100 folks.

Pegasus Nightclub

This LGBTQ hotspot will be hosting its third annual Thanksgiving potluck ahead of the holiday. The nightclub’s staff and the regular happy hour customers will gather for a Friendsgiving of sorts. The holiday party will include cheap drinks, music, tasty food and, of course, friends! Folks are welcome to bring a dish and get in on the celebration.

This Far West Side drinking spot will be hosting its usual $1.51 You Call It Wednesday this Thanksgiving Eve until 10 p.m. From 5 to 10 p.m., DJs will play favorite jams from the ‘80s, and there will be live music at 7 p.m.
