What are the qualities of a superior slice? Various opinions rage along the byways and back alleys of New York, Chicago, and Boston, even penetrating the editorial offices of this paper. It's hard to find consensus on the issue, never mind unanimity. Yet almost everyone here at the Current, plus the majority of readers who voted, agreed that Rome's Pizza was the king of the proverbial pie. Sesame-crusted and cheesy as Siegfried and Roy at the Mirage, Rome's delectable offerings give a down-home, wood-fired flavor to new and surprising combinations. Gyro pizza? Raisin-curry olive oil?
