In a three-day local art and music extravaganza, Monkeyfest showcases the musicians and artists who create and enrich San Antonio’s aspiring scene. Thursday’s kick-off show is dubbed San Antonio Unplugged, the lineup featuring indie-rock group Druggist, `see “Indie-Pop Pharmacy,” March 21-27, 2007` with Black Friday, Raul Gonzalez, Professor Amsterdam, and more on the bill. Definitely not a stranger to the local scene, vocalist Jim Meek takes the stage with his new band, Passenger, on Friday night, while live art and music entertain during Saturday night’s Artslam. All shows start at 9 p.m., $5 21+, $8 minors.
