Release Date: 2007-09-05
Under the alias Buck Bourbon, shock rocker Wednesday 13 exposes his versatility with a side project that echoes the days of Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings. His partner in crime is Rayen Belchere (Jessie Crow), and the duo makes its live debut with five Texas dates. The CD, Highway to Hangovers, is straight-up renegade outlaw music, saluting the country legends of old. W13 stays true to form — his campy, morbid sense of humor runs rampant with witty songs steeped in whiskey, dead bodies, graveyards, and girls. The music is catchy and fun, sporting lyrics like “A.A. stands for Alcohol is Awesome.” We have to agree. $7, 8pm, Rock Bottom, 1033 Ave. B, Myspace.com/bourboncrow.
