“Every generation needs a new revolution.” The words of Thomas Jefferson, perhaps our most influential forefather, are as important now as ever. With the 2008 presidential election just one year away, its time to get into a political mindset and become civically engaged. Ruta Maya helps the cause by hosting Spam the Senate, a grass-roots effort to educate young people about making their voices heard. Local organizers will teach young people how to write to their elected officials via on-site laptops and register them to vote. Music will be provided by Jesse of 180 Grams, Six Guns, Scuba Steve vs. DJ Tech-neek, Koo Kid D vs. Ernest Gonzales, Donnie Dee, and many more. Free, 7pm-2am, Ruta Maya Coffeehouse, 107 E. Martin,
