The artists who make up the heart and soul of San Antonio venture out of their studios to present Luminaria, an unprecedented collaboration of those who wish to celebrate the dynamic vitality of San Antonio’s creative spirit. The free, artist-driven event showcases music, visual arts, theater, dance, multi-media presentations, and more. The festivities take place citywide all day, and the downtown celebration will be from 6 p.m. to midnight along Alamo Plaza,  Houston Street and Magik Theatre. At FiberArt Space, Suchil Coffman-Guerra’s installation Kitchen Goddess Goes to Work (right) is part of the festivities. Performance art is slated from Noon to 4 p.m., complete with a ’50s rockabilly hour. Visit for complete information.
