Pepper, Red Eye Empire, & Iration

Posted on Wed, Apr 16, 2008 at 4:00 AM

Release Date: 2008-04-16

Hawaiian reggae? That’s what we said, but Kona natives Pepper don’t play traditional Hawaiian music. Rather, they stick to a strict diet of alternative power pop, rock, punk, and reggae. Influenced by early ’70s and ’80s Jamaican sounds, Pepper can be described as an eclectic mix of the Police meet Ziggy Marley meet the Vandals. With stints on the Vans Warped Tour and help from Volcom Entertainment, it’s no wonder that the band’s live act has evolved into a must-see. Their positive, relentless spirit knows no bounds, evidenced by a fan base that spans the globe. The power trio will release their fifth album Pink Crustaceans and Good Vibrations this July on their own label, LAW Records.
$15-$18, 7pm, White Rabbit, 2410 N. St. Mary’s,
