Atlanta’s Jay Jenkins is complicated, a raspy-voiced man of contradictions. Despite his infamous claim that he “fuck`s` with John McCain,” he just as eloquently endorses his opponent: “Y’all better vote for Barack Obama, a black president and shit.” On “Crazy World,” he complains that hip-hop is full of “that dumb shit, that where you from shit, that ride around your hood all day with your gun shit,” then spends the rest of the album spitting lines about driving various cars, staying strapped, and repping the ATL. He protests that the unbalanced state of the economy makes it hard to pay for his “granny’s nerve pills” while the elite are “steady building condos and shit” but later brags he’ll buy a helicopter the next time he re-ups, which makes him sound like kind of a dick. This is exactly the sort of support Obama can do without.
