Genre: Recording

Leroy “Horsemouth” Wallace says he’s the hardest drummer in Kingston, and maybe he’s right. When a shady tourist-trap owner steals Wallace’s motorcycle, old Horsemouth doesn’t just get it back, he takes a nasty beating for it and avenges the damn thing Robin Hood style, all while smoking spliffs the size of pool cues. And it’s all (except for maybe the weed) secondary to the music. In addition to Wallace, ’70s reggae artists Burning Spear, Gregory Isaacs, and Inner Circle’s Jacob Miller perform and play themselves in a movie that combines real-life locations — recording studios, musician’s homes, etc. — with an unmistakable Rasta rebellion disguised as a stoner-paced motorcycle movie. The English subtitles and the included Clockwork Orange style glossary of Jamaican street slang are most definitely required, but the Blu-ray audio is incredibly clear, and the soundtrack nearly equals that of Rockers’ better-known predecessor, The Harder They Come.
