Summer Literary Festival

Posted on Wed, Jul 7, 2010 at 4:00 AM

Critic's Pick Release Date: 2010-07-07

Biomimicry is “the science and art of emulating nature’s best biological ideas to solve human problems.” We swear, we’d never heard this term before (don’t laugh at us, nerds), but we sure like it. We further think that Gemini Ink taking this notion as the lodestone (that’s a thing, right?) for their Summer Literary Festival is genius. Classes in Green Era literary arts taught by masters such as Donna Peacock and former Texas Monthly staff writer Joe Nick Patoski sound difficult in just the right way, and performances including an Artpace “2 to Watch” starring poet Trey Moore and artist Ken Little promise to dilate what this bio-anthropomorphism could mean at the atomic-language level. July 9 through Jul 25. Gemini Ink, 513 S. Presa and elsewhere. See for more details.
