Canine & Feline Christmas at North Star

Posted on Wed, Dec 1, 2010 at 4:00 AM

Critic's Pick Release Date: 2010-12-01

What could be cuter than tricking your pet out in a designer outfit and dragging it to the mall to be photographed with Santa? As you may know, Santa has a lot on his plate right now, and we’re not talking about slice-and-bake cookies (he hates those, by the way). Yet he’s taking time out for local dogs and cats. However, if your domesticated beast is prone to get all tangled up in a bushy white beard or maybe take a claw to a wind-chapped face, this holiday photo op is not for you. A few critters that aren’t on Santa’s guest list: birds, fish, snakes, lizards, rats, rabbits, sugar gliders, hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs, and ferrets. In other words, he only wants to be photographed with your pet if it’s a dog or a cat, on a leash or in a carrier. $10 suggested donation, 6-9pm, North Star Mall (use the entrance between Saks Fifth Avenue and Toni & Guy), 7400 San Pedro, (210) 342-2325, northstarmall.com. Pets will be given tasty treats while they wait for their special moment with Mr. Claus.
