Cowboy Christmas at Enchanted Springs Ranch

Posted on Wed, Dec 15, 2010 at 4:00 AM

Critic's Pick Release Date: 2010-12-15

For a holiday jaunt with nostalgic appeal, head to Boerne’s Enchanted Springs Ranch, where everyone’s a cowboy for the day ? including Santa. Among the activities included in the ticket price are tractor-pulled wagon rides through a wild animal park (longhorns, buffalo, deer, and a variety of exotics all call the ranch home), cowboy skits, craft tables, stick-pony and pedal-tractor races, and an appearance by two-time World Champion Gun Twirler Pistol Packin’ Paula. Big-spending mamas and papas surely won’t deprive the wee ones of Kodak moments like $3 pony rides or $6 bungee blasts. Trivia: In 2008, Oprah Winfrey included Enchanted Springs Ranch on her list of not-to-be-missed “Wacky Family Attractions.” Adults: $14; kids: $7; 10am-5pm Sat, Dec 18 & Sun, Dec 19, Enchanted Springs Ranch, 242 Hwy. 46 West, Boerne, (830) 249-8222, enchantedspringsranch.com. P.S. Two requests: Don’t trust your GPS (please call for directions); and leave your own booze and pets at home.
