Dig into the past at the Archaeological Institute of America’s Archaeology Fair, a fun-filled day of hands-on activities and enlightening demonstrations led by archaeologists, museum educators, and historical re-enactors. Although perfect for kids, guests of all ages are invited to learn about history and cultural heritage directly from the experts. Get your money’s worth: Since you’ll be paying regular museum admission, make the most of your visit by checking out the Witte’s 1910: A Revolution Across Borders, an exhibit of documentary photographs, letters, postcards, art, and music related to the Centennial of the Mexican Revolution, and Porfirio Salinas: Painting South Texas, an exhibit of landscapes showcasing Central Texas’ diverse geography (and a lot of bluebonnets). $6-$8, 10am-2pm Fri, Jan 7; 10am-2pm Sat, Jan 8; Witte Museum, 3801 Broadway, (210) 357-1900,,
