Critic's Pick Release Date: 2011-01-19

The brainchild of Michelle Ellsworth and Brandi Mathis (both of whom share a love for “viewing and creating dances for the screen”), the Sans Soucí Festival of Dance Cinema was conceived in 2003 in a Boulder, Colo., trailer park named Sans Soucí, which means “without worries” or “carefree” in French. Now operating as a niche film festival with an “expansive definition of dance and an appreciation for highly experimental and interdisciplinary forms,” Sans Soucí will treat Trinity’s Attic Theatre to three screenings of films and videos from across the globe. Live performances will punctuate the Friday and Saturday screenings, and guests will vote on their favorite shorts (all are between two and 20 minutes). The most popular shorts will be screened Sunday afternoon, followed by a Q&A. $5-$10, 8pm Fri, Jan 21; 8pm Sat, Jan 22; 2:30pm Sun, Jan 23; Attic Theatre, Trinity University, One Trinity Place,,
